Only a decade ago, the mapping of the world as we now take it for granted was unthinkable. Microsoft's Augmented Reality Maps are taking us further still.

A couple of years back Blaise Aguera y Arcas wowed a TED audience - and many more beyond - with his demonstration of Photosynth. Here he is, back again in March 2010, showing us the application of Photosynth to Microsoft's Augmented Reality Maps. The awed reaction of the TED audience speaks volumes.
